As a watercolorist now living in Bar Harbor, Maine, with Acadia National Park at my back door, it seems only natural that my art has its emphasis on the endurance of granite. The ephemeral quality of ferns, fallen leaves, and wispy wildflowers stand in stark contrast to solidity of granite.

Zen Poem II

When I lived in the Southwest, endurance in spite of a harsh environment was epitomized by cactus surviving in the arid dessert. Even the light here in coastal Downeast Maine seems magical when it dances on layers of mountain stream water with textured granite below. The light from sunsets and sunrises is spectacular; transforming all forms it graces with its warmth.
